The Voice of Sikkim — Editorial Policy
At The Voice of Sikkim, we hold ourselves to a clear and consistent editorial standard.
Accuracy — Every story published on TVS is verified to the best of our ability before publication. We cross-check facts across multiple credible sources before going live. In the event of an error, we correct it promptly and transparently.
Independence — Our editorial decisions are made independently, free from advertiser pressure, political influence, or commercial interests. No individual, organisation, or government can direct or influence our editorial content.
Fairness — We present news in a balanced manner. When reporting on disputes, controversies, or conflicts, we make every effort to represent all sides fairly.
Transparency — We clearly distinguish between news reports and opinion or analysis pieces. Readers will always know what they are reading.
Sources — TVS assembles and curates news from verified and credible sources. Where news is sourced from wire services, official advisories, or other media, we ensure it is rewritten, contextualised, and presented with added local insight relevant to our readership.
Corrections Policy — If we get something wrong, we fix it. Corrections are made visibly on the original article without erasing the error silently. Readers can report errors to our editorial desk via our Contact page.
Community Standards — TVS does not publish content that is defamatory, communally inflammatory, or violates the privacy of individuals without public interest justification.
