Editorial Standards

The Voice of Sikkim (TVS) has been reporting from the hills of Sikkim since 2002 — making us the region’s first digital news portal, online years before “digital journalism” was a category anyone in Northeast India was competing in.

That head start gave us something competitors built later: a readership that trusts us first when news breaks in Sikkim.

What We Cover

We report on the stories that shape daily life across Sikkim and Northeast India — state politics and governance, tourism and the economy that depends on it, environment and development, crime and the courts, and the national stories that touch local communities. When something happens in Sikkim, TVS is usually the first to have it.

Independent, By Design

We are not owned by, funded by, or answerable to any political party, corporate house, or government body. Our only obligation is to our readers — accurate reporting, delivered fast, without an agenda attached. Our full editorial standards and corrections policy are published here.

Our Newsroom

TVS is run by a compact team of reporters, editors, and contributors based in and around Sikkim — close enough to the ground to verify a story before it’s published, fast enough to get it out while it’s still news. Meet the team here.
