New Delhi, August 25: BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut has hit out at several film industry figures and yoga guru Baba Ramdev, dismissing her critics as “failed” and “irrelevant” during an interaction with the media at Delhi Airport on Monday.

Ranaut said she would not entertain criticism from people who have not matched her professional record, naming actors Ashutosh Rana, Sonu Sood, Rakhi Sawant and Taapsee Pannu as among those who regularly target her. She accused Rana of comparing her to a barking dog, Sawant of making personal remarks about her character, and Pannu of insulting her family background and upbringing.

“If you haven’t achieved even one per cent of the success I have in life, I am not going to listen to you,” Ranaut said, adding that such individuals were “completely irrelevant people” who criticised her only to gain media attention.

The actor-politician also responded to Baba Ramdev, who had objected to her recent use of the term “Generation Gutter” to describe protesters at Jantar Mantar. Ranaut said the yoga guru had “crossed every boundary of decency” through his past comments about women, and suggested he needed to reflect on his own views before commenting on hers.

The fresh exchange follows the backlash Ranaut faced over her “Generation Gutter” remark, which drew criticism from several quarters of the entertainment industry, including Sood, who had urged her to exercise restraint in her public statements, and Sawant, who posted a video response. Ranaut’s long-running friction with Pannu and Rana also resurfaced amid the controversy.

Ranaut, who represents Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, has a history of public disagreements with fellow film industry figures and has frequently spoken about her experiences in Bollywood.
